EDUCATION

Sponsor a child

Fulfilling a Dream; every child is unique and deserves the chance to dream, to achieve incredible things and to look forward to a wonderful future. By becoming a sponsor you’re helping break the cycle of poverty for a sponsored child. Education is key and we believe in investing in children from underserved communities who need it become greater people to society.

Book4change

Education is one area we commit much attention and resources into; this is to ensure that every Ghanaian or African child living anywhere has access to basic teaching and learning materials to enhance studies. The Books for Change (BFC) project seeks to achieve a change in the reading habits of children and a successful completion of basic education for advantaged children in Northern Ghana. With support from groups like I BELIEVE IN READING and individuals we normally donate reading materials to  Yikene primary and Sumbrungu Primary and Junior high school all in the Upper East region. Reading clubs have been formed to test for the results of the project in these schools which allows voluntary participation of children who come together to read books of their choices during their leisure time (during and after school sessions), teachers have been assigned to supervise these period and assist them in reading. The project still seeks to reach out to a larger target population as time goes on.

HEALTH

Community health outreach

In the spirit of love, goodwill and service to humanity, we have realized the need to reach out to rural communities, to offer them the little help that we can. We live in a country where the gap between the urban and rural areas is so wide and these rural folk are denied some of the basic needs that they as human beings are entitled to which include health and education.  It is in light of this that we have seen the need to partner with organizations, Medical volunteers far and wide, to organize a medical outreach and health education exercise in selected rural areas in Northern Ghana. We offer free medical screening, free medical consultation, public health education, counseling, free supply of drugs and other free complementary supplies (such as toiletries, toys for children etc). Our consultation with senior health practitioners at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital has shown this to be true; and that is why we put a great deal of emphasis on our humanitarian medical outreach program.

WATER AND SANITATION

Provision of potable water in underserved communities

After a survey on acute water shortage in communities around Bolgatanga, school attendance of girls was not satisfactory due to ill-health from water borne disease and early morning long hours in search for water. It was also realised that women who engaged in economic activities within these areas spent most of their time in search of potable water for their families, making life uneasy. With these facts, we find it neccecary to help rural communities have access water. Already, five of such communities have benefited from this programme.

Plastic Campaign

Our plastic compaign and education is line with global concerns on plastic waste. We envisage to help Reduce, Reuse and Recycle plastic waste in Bolgatanga. We believe educating children is key to achieve this. We have started creating awareness of this with children in our partner schools.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Women Empowerment (Malgu Baobab)

We run a women empowerment project called the Malgu Boabab Project, which trains women in baobab processing, the uses and the marketing of the product. The main purpose of this project is to provide income for women from Yinduri community of Bolgatanga during the dry season where they are not able to farm and to support the education of their children.
